SONYA WICKLIFFE
Senior Associate Attorney

Sonya Wickliffe joined the firm in September 2013. She began her legal career as a Family Law Paralegal in 2001 and was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2008. Sonya has practiced Family Law exclusively since 2008 and is active in the Family Law community.

Sonya graduated from San Jose State University with her B.A. in English, Cum Laude, and later completed a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from DeAnza College. She graduated with her J.D. from Santa Clara University in 2008. Sonya earned all of her degrees while raising two young children.

While in law school, Sonya was a student worker for the Workers’ Rights Clinic at the Katherine and George Alexander Community Law Center. She first assessed possible claims in the Advice Clinic and later provided representation to clients under a supervising attorney. In addition to her clinical work during law school, Sonya competed in Moot Court, finishing as a quarter-finalist in both Honors Moot Court, and the Galloway Criminal Moot Court Competition. She also received the award for Best Appellant Brief in Advocacy.

After law school, Sonya returned to Family Law and is experienced in issues of property, custody, visitation, and support. She has since been a prior co-chair of the Social Committee and prior member of the Judiciary Committee. She has also participated in volunteer activities, such as Lawyers in the Library, the Early Neutral Evaluation program, and the Personal Property/Arbitration program.
Sonya works diligently to assist clients through the process, whether by litigation, settlement, or advising clients in mediation. Sonya is committed to providing understanding, professionalism, and effective representation to her clients.
