KATHRYN SCHLEPPHORST
Attorney at law

Kathryn received her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law with a certificate in Public Interest Law. She attended University of Colorado at Boulder and received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Kathryn has received numerous awards for her work in Family Law.

In 2010 and 2014, she received the Henry B. Collada Award from the SCCBA Family Law Section. This award recognized her extraordinary contribution, professionalism and focus on the betterment of families and children involved with the Family Court. In 2008, she received the Byrl Salsman Award for her long and dedicated service to the SCCBA. In 1994, she received the SCCBA Barrister of the Year award for her dedication in providing Pro Bono services. In 1994, she also received the California State Bar Wiley Manual Award for providing and enabling legal services for the poor.

Kathryn has been a Super Lawyer since 2008. She has taught classes for both the SCCBA and the State Bar.

Kathryn has been actively involved in the SCCBA since becoming a member in 1994. She has been a member of the Board of Trustees, the president of Women Lawyers, a member of the Judiciary Committee and a member of the Lawyer Referral Service. She has been a member of the Family Law Section since 1995, serving in a variety of ways, including Chair of the Executive Committee and Strategic Planning committees, and member of the Liaison, the Education, Minor’s Counsel and Social/Fundraising committees.

Her service to the California State Bar includes serving as a member of the Family Law Executive Committee for three years continuing as an advisor for another four years.

Her service to the Community includes membership on the Board of Directors of Dependency Advocacy Center; Domestic Violence Intervention Collaborative and the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art and a past member of the Board of Directors for the American Musical Theater.
